---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

AJ looks straight ahead, at the two men standing there. One of them seem to have something is his hand.

He can see metal shining.

Is it a gun?

He hears movements from behind, and two more men step out from the shadows.

There are five of them and only four of these men, but they have weapons, and he is not about to push his luck.

Hopefully all they want is money.

They have plenty of that.

"Well looky here. If it isn't the Backstreet Boys. What, trying to pull off a bad boy image or something guys. Let me tell you something. It isn't working."

The man who is talking looks big. He's the one in front of them that doesn't have the metal thing. He steps closer, and one of the men from behind moves so they can see him clearly.

He is tall, and maybe a bit overweight. He is wearing a sleeveless black shirt and tight blue jeans.

'Way too tight' AJ thinks.

Now there is only one man left behind them. He turns, and far back he can see some people leaving the club, walking the other way.

'We were going the wrong way' he thinks, and tries to meet Kevin's eyes.

He's got a plan.

'Hope it will work' he thinks.

He meets Kevin's eyes at last, and nods slightly towards the other end. Kevin nods back.

He understands.

"Now. What to do with you?" the man with the metal thing says. He moves closer, and AJ can now clearly see the shining bat he has in his hand.

No gun. This might just work.

"Now" he yells, and pushes the man behind the over and starts to run down the ally. The other guys follow right behind.

They run for all they are worth.

They are running for their lives.

AJ can hear the men following them, and for a moment it seems like they are getting closer.

They pass the door to the club but goes on. They have to make it to the car.

They can't just go into the club and say that they were attacked. For all he knew it could be some of those Stars people.

The made it out of the ally and they can now see the parking lot.

AJ slows down, he can't hear anyone behind him anymore.

"I think they gave up" he says as they reach the car.

Kevin opens it and they all jump in and they take off.

He doesn't slow down until they can no longer see the club behind them.

"Now that was a little bit too close" Justin says, his hands shaking and his breath heaving from the fast run.

"Yeah. I don't wanna do that again" Howie says.

AJ looks at each of them, noticing shaking and shortness of breath.

They were all scared by that.

"We have to be more careful in the future" he says, and the other guys agree.

Next time, they are bringing their bodyguards.

********************

The club is full of people. And then there is them.

Yet another club Justin has head of, and he has to admit, it seems better.

Except for the fact that they are parked a few blocs away, as they were advised not to park outside if they wanted to keep their car.

But they didn't care. They had their bodyguards, and everything should be ok.

Even AJ was having a great time. He had been talking for most of the night with two guys who had been dating each other for over seven years. The storied they could tell. They had been to places even they hadn't visited, and seen the things they never had time to see.

Even Justin was amazed, and he rarely liked to listen to AJ's ramblings about relationships or some places he went without the other guys.

The two guys knew who they were, but did not seem to care. Neither did they mention AJ's interest in their relationship and problems. Perhaps they simply thought that he was interested in it as entertainment.

Like Justin was at this point.

All the gays he had met had never managed to stay in a relationship for that many years. It seemed impossible to him.

But then again, he hadn't met that many in his life.

He simply didn't have time.

*****

It was getting late, and their bodyguards decided it was time to go.

With them around you listened.

It had gotten very dark outside, and they decided to hurry. The streets seemed too empty, too silent.

They were getting closer to the car, and everything seemed ok.

Justin was a little nervous, looking around.

AJ supposed that they all felt a little shaky still after what had happened yesterday. That had been too close for comfort.

A sudden movement to their right caught his attention, and before he could react something hit one of the bodyguards in the head and he fell over.

Knocked out cold, blood coming from a wound in his forehead.
