--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- He stares straight ahead. "It can't be" He closes his eyes, then open them again. "Still there" Standing right inside the door is the one person he hasn't been able to get out of his head for the last two hours. He has been dreaming about this moment, not to mention fantasizing, but now it is here. He is here. AJ McLean is standing in his club. A sudden urge to jump the man rushes through N-Zee, but he grabs a hold of himself and stays. He does not want to make a fool of himself. He doesn't care about his reputation, but he has a lot of enemies in this club as well, and if any of them sees him drooling over a Backstreet Boy that particular Backstreet Boy might find himself very dead in the morning, or worse. Even though the club is his he cannot keep his enemies out. Non of them are gang bangers though. Only Blue Stars are allowed into the club, or rather they are the only ones who can come in and live. After all, it is their club. But it is also filled with petty criminals and other scum. Not to forget the different celebs. Oh, you can always find some of then in small clubs all over LA. There was one reason for that. Journalists or anyone who looked like they might be collectors or something like that were not allowed into bars like this one, for various reasons. AJ was moving now, and he kept his eyes on him, moving to the outside of the bar, sitting down. AJ and the rest of the Backstreet Boys sat down. None of them had brought any bodyguards or girlfriends. He found that weird. In this part of town, you needed a bodyguard. But perhaps they didn't know that. "Yo N-Zee, you there" He jumps and turn around to look straight into Mickey's eyes. "Don't do that again" he says, smiling. Mickey smiles and settles down on the char next to him. He can see Janny out of the dance floor with a blonde with the star tattoo and green shirt. "Janny dancing with Mye again?" he says matter of factly and takes a sip of the margarita he can't remember ordering. "Yep. They're a crazy bunch of people for sure" Mickey says with a huge grin. He's used to his girl dancing with others, especially Mye as he himself couldn't dance if his life depended on it and Mye happened to be a champ. "That they are" he says as his eyes fall upon the table where AJ McLean is located once again. He's not there. His eyes scanns the room. Where is he? He suddenly feels like something is wrong, and turns to talk to Mickey, only Mickey isn't there anymore. Shit. He quickly looks into his margarita as he recognizes the man standing right next to him waiting for a drink. Him. In the corner of his eye he can see AJ get his drink and move back to another table. The other guys are there, and two ladies he hasn't seen here before. "Probably tourists" he thinks as he settles down at a table with a good view of AJ's table. He is aware of the fact that there are other people sitting At the table he is currently at, but he doesn't care. They are his, and they probably thinks that it is his turn to look for potentional troublemakers. Something it actually is, but he knows that Mickey will take care of it. The two blondes seem to have a lot of fun, talking and laughing amongst themselves. The oldest one is looking at his drink, probably thinking that it is getting late and that his girl is alone at the hotel. He knew about the girls, he had connections. The oldest one, Kevin, had a blonde girl. Beautiful, but according to some friends she was shy. Probably why she wasn't here with them. The long haired one, Howie, also had a girl, but he knew almost nothing about her, except that she was blonde and a dancer. The oldest blonde, Brian dated an actress, and the youngest one, Justin was single. He didn't really care about girls he said. He felt like he was still too young to have anything serious. Foolish kid. And then there was AJ. For as long as the group had been together he had not had a single steady girlfriend. Sure, he had been seen with a lot of them, but he had never dated any of them for real. N-Zee had always wondered if the Backstreet Boy was gay, but every time he looked at him he couldn't find a single sign. He could usually look at a man and know, but not with this one. Not with AJ. It was getting late, and the guys seemed to be ready to leave. He decided to follow them for a while, to see that everything was ok. Even the short walk from the backside of the club, where you got out, to the parking lot in front could be a dangerous one. ******************* AJ looks around in the club. He liked the name of it, Destination Unknown. "Sorta like my life" he mumbles. "What did you say" Kevin looks at him with curious eyes. "Nothing Kev, nothing. So, what do we do now?" Justin comes up to his side. "Now we party" he says and goes into the crowd, finding a spot where he can dance. Brian follows closely behind, leaving him with Kevin and Howie. Together they find a table where they can sit down that is close to both the bar and the dance floor. The place looks good, but it is the kind of place where you get your own drink. Howie looks at them both. "I'm gonna get something to drink. What do you guys want?" "Just some water thanks" Kevin says. He is the one driving, and he never drinks even a glass of beer if he knows he is gonna come near the wheel of a car. "Margarita" AJ says, scanning the bar for no apparent reason. Girls. Guys. Blue Stars, gotta be a gang symbol. Dancers. A bar with people in...wait. His eyes lock on a guy sitting at the bar. He seems familiar. For a second he thinks it is the guy from earlier. From the concert. He tried to get a look at the guys face, but there was too many people. Way too many people. He notices that Howie is back and he grabs his drink. The guy at the bar is talking to someone, looking and pointing at a girl dancing with some other guy. That is when he sees it, on the other guys shoulder. The Blue Star. He shakes his head, This man cannot be the one from the concert. No one in a gang would ever be seen at their concerts. And as far as he know, the concert hall is in the part of town where another gang has their HQ, the White Lions. 'what's with the colors' he thinks, and gets back to his drink, and the conversation the others are having. Justin and Brian is back, and they are now trying to convince them all to go to some private party with there girls they just met. Howie is all for it, but he's Howie, he loves to party. Kevin is the one saying no, and with good reason. At a place like this you can meet the wrong people. You should always be careful. Especially around girls. He tries to take a drink, but it is all gone. He can't remember drinking it t all. He gets up but a new one. "Anyone want a drink?" Howie looks at him and starts to laugh. "I asked you if you wanted one five minutes ago but you said no." AJ shakes his head, He can't remember that. He moves through the crowd and over to the bar. The guy is alone now, looking at something in the crowd. He makes his order, and waits for it. He doesn't even look at the guy. Now is not the time to get into trouble. When he gets his drink he moves back to the other guys. They seem to all be in a good mood. Justin looks like someone gave his a drink. 'That kid just can't take any alcohol' AJ thinks, shaking his head. Brian is telling one of his jokes again, and they all burst out laughing. He's heard it before. Once again his drink is empty, and this time he know that he didn't drink it. He looks at Justin who is grinning at him. "OK, that's it. You're going down" he says and make it look like he is about to go for Justin. Brian starts to laugh at the face Justin makes when he thinks AJ is coming for him, and even Kevin thinks that one is funny. Looking from Justin to AJ Howie smiles. "I think it is time we go home now, don't you. We can always come back later, but right now, all I want is a good nights sleep." They all agree, and move towards the exit of the bar, which is on the other side of the building. The come out in an ally, and Kevin looks around, trying to figure out where the car is parked. "I think we have to go that way" Justin says, pointing towards a long dark ally. "The other one looks like a dead end" Kevin nods, and they start to walk down the dark street, looking for any signs or something that will tell them where their car is. Behind them, two shadows move into the street, following them. Suddenly two other shadows appear in front of them, and they stop a when they see metal shining in one of the guys hands.

© WHYTEknight 2002-2008. This story is fiction, which means it is not true, none of this is real. Any actions similar to reality is just a coincidence. This story may be based on real people, but it is not about real events. I do not know the Backstreet Boys, nor am I in any way affiliated with them, their friends, family or management. Again, this is a work on fiction, I made it up! |
